She met her future husband while attending New Mexico A&M. She was a homemaker but had also worked in a silversmith’s shop in Mesilla. She was an avid supporter of New Mexico State University athletics. She was a longtime member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She worked with the Chihuahuan Desert Wildlife Rescue.
