    • Charles graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1932 and Rice Institute (now Rice University) in 1936. He worked for Humble Pipeline Company before entering the army as a volunteer officer candidate. He became a Second Lieutenant and graduated from field artillery officer training school at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He separated from the army in 1946 as a First Lieutenant. He then received a job offer in Fayetteville, North Carolina and the family moved there. After being out of school for 15 years, he decided to go back. He became a CPA and formed the partnership of Haigh and von Rosenberg. He has volunteered in numerous organizations including the Community Chest, Red Cross, Cumberland County Cancer Society, Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Commission and St. John's Episcopal Church, to name a few. He has also participated in several professional organizations including organizing and serving as President of the local CPA Society. He has served on the national council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Committee of Personnel Recruitment on a national level and has been very active in local community organizations including the Kiwanis Club.
