    • Laura was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority at the University of Texas, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. She studied foreign languages there and at the University of Michigan while Bill worked on his Ph.D. She taught in the Water Valley schools in Galveston. After the children were older, she returned to teaching in the Jefferson County schools in Birmingham, Alabama. She earned the title of Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League and worked as a sectional director for 18 years, receiving credit for original progressions for individual player tournaments. After Bill’s death, Laura moved to Dallas, Texas to be nearer her family. She did some Spanish coaching, bridge playing, and traveling. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
