    • Martha grew up and attended schools in La Grange. While quite young, she studied music. After high school, she was a saleswoman in her brother’s mercantile store and helping her parents with their hotel business. After marrying Alexander in a ceremony at her parents’ home, they lived with his mother in La Grange until she moved to San Angelo in 1909 to be with her other sons. After the death of her husband, she took an active role in The von Rosenberg Company, serving as a saleswoman.

Martha was for many years a member of the Roman Catholic Church Choir. She was a member of the Altar Society and National Council of Roman Catholic Women’s Organizations.
