- Mildred attended the public schools in San Antonio and graduated from the old Main Avenue High School. As a girl she was active in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Jack Shiner whom she married was employed by the U. S. Department of Agriculture; so the moved from time to time.
To this union two children were born. Her home life has been very happy and a busy one; still she finds time to spend in her garden and sew for herself and grandchildren. She has also been Past Matron of the Laredo Chapter No. 86, Order of the Eastern Star. She is also a member of the Episcopal Church and now resides in El Paso, Texas.
