Notes |
- Oliver attended Tech High School, San Antonio, Texas. He worked for the draft board in 1943 as his eyesight was too poor to actually serve in World War II. One of his jobs was to take the blood samples of the draftees to the laboratory. He worked for civil service in Sacramento, California and Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Oliver began working on cars as a teen. He worked for Martin's Garage where he acquired much of his knowledge from Charlie Martin. He was a race car driver out on the old track on the Old Austin Highway, but was short-lived due to his parents concerns of the activity. Oliver's hobbies were cars and selling at the flea market. He also had his own garage at various times. He enjoyed traveling and family outings to Shady Acres near Bandera.
