- Phil recieved a degree in Music Education from the University of Texas before going to Mountain Home, Arkansas where he was the high school band director for four years before moving to Raymondville, Texas, again as a band director. He served four years in the Navy as drum major for the Navy Band. He worked in Portland, Texas for five years at Bledsoe Music Company. He was transferred to San Antonio, Texas, and worked for San Antonio Music Company for five years. He then worked for Brooks Mays Music Company in Houston, Texas from 1973 to 1982, at which time he ventured into private business. He and Fredia were divorced in 1989, and Phil remarried in 1991. He was a member of several Masonic-related organizations and past master of Gray Masonic Lodge No. 329. He was an excellent musician and played many instruments. He learned music from his Aunt Martha Meerscheidt at the age of four. Phil served as secretary of the von Rosenberg Family of Texas for 21 years, up to the time of his death. He passed away from cancer.
